Recipe: Red cabbage with apples

A concentration of vitamins!

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 red cabbage
  • 3 apples
  • 2 onions
  • 50g of butter
  • Salt, pepper
  • Grated nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar

 


 PREPARATION

  1.  Cut the cabbage in slices, wash and drain it.
  2. In a pan, melt over low heat ¼ of butter and add the minced onions. When the onions are golden, add the rest of the butter and the red cabbage. Let it all cook over low heat until the cabbage has reduced by half. 
  3. Season with salt, pepper and grated nutmeg to taste. Incorporate brown sugar, vinegar and hot water. Then, add the apples cut in slices and mix it all. 
  4.  Let it cook over low heat and serve when the apples are cooked.
