4 ways to prepare your vegetable garden soil before planting

Here is some basic advice before beginning your planting. The choice is yours!

  • A spade

- Digging in the ground is very tiring; your back especially feels it.

- Digging cuts through the earth, as well as earthworms that are the best soil aerators.

- It allows you to break up the soil and bury weeds.

  • Fork-type tools for digging, broad fork, ...

- These are probably the best tools for loosening the ground without destroying it.

- They are easy to use with minimal effort: goodbye sore back!

- They do not bother earthworms and minimally affect surface micro-organisms. A real asset for preserving the fertility of the earth!

- Don't forget however to break up large clumps of soil with a rake before planting.

  • Walking tractor

- These are easy to use and are not very tiring. The walking tractor's rotary hoes work the earth to make it into a relatively fine powder, ready for planting.

- This does however destroy earthworms and micro-organisms.
